This is an exclusive opportunity for children from Japan and UK to virtually come together, travel, and practise their conversational skills.
Real-world student exchange programs are designed with the purpose of bringing children from two countries together thus acquainting them with each other’s culture and language. However, such programs have limitations and are not been accessible to everyone. Designed around the concept of real-life student exchange programs, Globe From Home’s unique virtual language exchange sessions completely eliminates the limitations of conventional programs. Children from different countries can come together irrespective of their geographical co-ordinates (subject to time zones, of course). On these programs the whole group will experience virtual tours of the each other’s countries. Besides learning about the local culture and traditions they will have the opportunity to practise their conversational skills. More importantly, as is the case with real travel, children will form a bond with each other, helping them to build their social and empathetic skills.
On this program, children learning Japanese in western schools and those in Japan looking to improve their English speaking skills will be paired together. Lasting 90 minutes each, the sessions are spread over 6 weeks and can be experienced from the comforts of school/ home. Every session involves a live, interactive tour of the two destinations (if the first week covers a tour of London, the next week would be a tour/ activity from Japan). Over six weeks children get to visit each other’s countries, participate in activities related to each other’s cultures while at the same time having the opportunity to converse with each other. This is an exclusive program like no other that is proven to bring children from different cultures together while also facilitating life-long learning.
