The cuisine of a particular region is perhaps the best indication of its culture as it shows the way of life of its inhabitants over the centuries. In this interactive, live streamed session we will go on an adventure to discover Lyon, considered to be at the heart of French Gastronomy (and culture).
The culinary traditions of the Lyonnais region are well-known for their delectable local dishes such as quenelles (fish dumplings in a creamy sauce), steak, Bresse chicken with morels, sausages, Saint-Marcellin cheese, Creme Brûlée, and Beef Bourguignon. The cuisine has retained its authenticity while also incorporating influences from other countries.
In this session, you may observe a professional chef preparing some of the region's most famous cuisine. This is also an excellent chance to learn about the culture and improve your language skills. Learners can join in the action and cook together while following the chef's instructions (they must first prepare ingredients ahead of time).
This activity is divided into 3 parts:
- Watching the chef prepare a local dish (You can indicate your choice when booking this session).
- Learning recipes ・Practising vocabulary & pronunciation
- Participating in the cooking session on camera with questions/answers directed at the Chef.
This is a unique session where learners will learn to cook something new and go away enriched with insights about the rich local culture.
